Welcome to Enterprise Alpacas, nestled in the green and serene Treasure Valley in Southwestern Idaho, just north of Boise.

Picture #1 We "discovered" alpacas in much the same way as most folks, an article in a magazine, an advertisement on TV, except that our revelation came by the way of a Christmas letter received by my husband's mother from her friend and ex co worker. Lo and behold, she had not only Anatolian shepherds which were of interest to us, but ALPACAS! Looking for a way out of the city, we decided we could do this-move to the country and raise alpacas. In our research (which one must do), we fell in love with the suri alpaca. Those flowing locks! That regal stance! Then came the feeling that these rare and beautiful creatures deserved to be saved for future generations. Their heritage in their South American homeland has been precarious since the Spanish Conquest, and even before. Their numbers never equaled the other type of alpaca, the huacaya. Therefore, our logo "From The Past---Into The Future".

 

 

We and other suri farms are breeding for the pure suri type, matching suri to suri. Enterprise Alpacas will be bringing new bloodlines to our area here in the Northwest as our herdsires have come from Australia with show winning records and ribbons.
