We are very excited to have Cassie and can't wait for her 2009 cria to arrive. Cassie is a glossy true black suri and shown at the 2001 AOBA Nationals earned herself a 4th place ribbon. She has excellent fleece qualities, good conformation, and a perfect bite. Cassie has passed on her ribbon-winning qualities and traits to her crias. Crias Torina and Meteorite have also done well in the ring at major shows. Five of her six crias have been girls! Bred to black, she produces black. She has produced four black female crias. And one dark brown male when bred to brown. Her 2008 cria, Saturna, is a beautiful brown female out of a brown sire. For her 2009 cria she has been bred to Zanzibar, a bay black Macgyver son, due this summer. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a dark, dark, maybe black, cria! Cassie's sire is the incredible Alpacas of America's mahogany stud, Peruvian Meteor. Metero is the sire of Cantano, who set a record auction sale price of $265,000. Cassie is a superb mother with no problems with reproductive stuff; getting pregnant, carrying to term, birthing, bonding, nursing. She is a very protective dam and keeps a close watch on her cria. Her crias have great weight gains, and do well. Most of her crias have been shown and did well, and most of their fiber falls in the top grades.
