Blue Hills Alpaca Farm of Greene County is located among the rolling Blue Hills of the Pine Belt of MS. We are located halfway between Hattiesburg,MS and Mobile,AL just off of Highway 98.

In order to get away from hurricanes, we wanted to head north. Katrina was the last one that we wanted to experience first hand. Fortunately we suffered only minor damage, but we did not want to risk our luck and chance another one.

Just a few years from retirement, we decided we would like to try farming and we researched possibilities from catfish to goats. Then we saw a story on TV about the alpaca business. It intrigued us so much that we started looking for a farm. We found this beautiful property, bought it, and started learning everything we could. We went on numerous farm visits. After closely scrutinizing the genetics and conformation, we purchased our foundation herd.

I Retired 2/1/09 and Jack plans to retire in 2015.
Our goal is to raise alpacas of the utmost quality. Raising alpacas in the humidity and heat of Mississippi can be very challenging. Our alpacas are adapting well because we provide them with superb nutrition and tender loving care.

We have been fortunate to have several female cris born on our farm and we are well on our way to our goals.

We will rescue any alpacas who are at risk in these tough times. Give us a call if you need this service.

We have 25 acres so if you would like to try alpaca farming but are not ready to take care of them yourself we will be glad to agist them for you.
